Precondition for any process simulation and optimization is the exact determination of technical, technological and chemical source data. Required source data consist of:
  • Technological data (inlet temperatures and inlet pressures of all unit reactors, mass charcteristics of Feed, Product, LPG and Hydrogen, their densities, octane numbers...).
  • Technical data (diameter, hight and volume of the reaction zones, flow direction of the gas mix, design parameters and limits, threshold values…).
  • Characteristics of the catalyst (type, diameter, density, porosity, viscosity...).
  • Complete gaschromatographic analysis of dry gases (LPG, inlet and outlet Hydrogen) and of liquid gases (Feed, unstable Reformate, stable Reformate).
  • Technical documentation of the reformer and the catalyst for the period of process optimization.
Any first-time optimization of a reformer/ platformer unit will take 35 production days. After that, subsequent optimizations will only take 3 production days, and this only in case of source data changes. The UniSARA simulation- and optimization model is constantly being improved and is always reflecting the newest technological standards. It is fully prepared and ready for the stage of industrial market introduction. Employing this simulation model for reformer block optimization does not cause project costs, as there are plans for sharing profits from extra production achieved by the model guaranteed to the company.
